Upon your arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you with khadar. To help you comfortably adjust to Bhutan’s altitude and relaxed pace of life, the first day is designed to be easy and enjoyable. From Paro, enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital city, surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes and peaceful valleys. After check-in and some relaxation, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the majestic Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, overlooking the Thimphu valley and offering breathtaking panoramic views. Later, visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong, a beautiful fortress-monastery that houses the King’s office, government ministries, and the central monastic body. After breakfast, begin your journey from Thimphu to Punakha, passing through beautiful mountain roads and picturesque landscapes. On the way, stop at the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,100m), famous for its 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, built by the Queen Mother in 2004 in memory of Bhutanese soldiers. On a clear day, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas.
Continue to Punakha and visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility, built in 1499 in honor of Drukpa Kunley, the legendary “Divine Madman.” Surrounded by peaceful rice fields, the temple is believed to bless couples wishing for children.
Later, explore the beautiful Punakha Dzong (Pungthang Dechen Phodrang), built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Located at the meeting point of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, this historic fortress is one of Bhutan’s most stunning landmarks and remains an important religious center.

Elevation: Punakha – 1,200m / 4,000 ft Elevation: Paro – 2250m/7382ft Distance: 125 km | Travel Time: approx. 4 hrs After breakfast, depart from Punakha and travel towards the beautiful valley of Paro, enjoying picturesque countryside views, winding mountain roads, and traditional villages along the journey. Upon reaching Paro, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the National Museum (Ta Dzong), a unique circular fortress built in 1649 as a defensive watchtower overlooking the valley. Today, it serves as a cultural museum displaying Bhutan’s rich collection of traditional costumes, historical artifacts, religious paintings, weapons, and ancient treasures. Later, visit the majestic Paro Rinpung Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks, built in 1646 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Famous for its impressive architecture and intricate wooden craftsmanship, the dzong stands proudly above the Paro River and remains an important center for both religious and administrative activities. In the evening, enjoy free time exploring the lively streets of Paro Town, where you can experience local life, browse souvenir shops, or simply relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of this charming town. | Day 4 | Paro – Tiger’s Nest Hike and Cultural Experience |
Elevation Togers Nest: 3120m/1040ft Distance: 12 km (round trip) Time Taken: 5-6 hours. After breakfast, set out for an unforgettable hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. Nestled dramatically on a cliff at an elevation of 3,120 meters, this sacred monastery is one of the country’s most revered spiritual sites. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) meditated here after arriving in Bhutan in the 8th century, flying on the back of a tigress. The hike rewards visitors with breathtaking views of the Paro Valley and a truly memorable cultural and spiritual experience. Later, visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, dating back to the 7th century. Built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo, it is regarded as one of the 108 temples constructed to promote Buddhism across the Himalayas.
