Day 1 Arrival in Bhutan – Thimphu Spiritual Introduction Elevation: Paro – 2,250m / 7,382 ft; Thimphu – 2,334m / 7,656 ft

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you before beginning a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's charming capital city. After checking in, visit the historic Bhutan Postal Museum, where you can create personalized Bhutanese postage stamps using your own photographs—a unique souvenir to remember your journey. Later, visit the magnificent Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress-monastery that houses the King's offices and serves as the seat of Bhutan's government and monastic body. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful architecture provide a wonderful introduction to Bhutan's spiritual heritage. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely walk through Thimphu town and witness the famous traffic police officer directing vehicles at Bhutan's unique traffic junction—one of the few capitals in the world without traffic lights. Take time to explore the local streets, cafes, and shops before returning to your hotel for a relaxing evening and preparation for the wellness experiences ahead.

Day 2 Spiritual Wellness Experience in Thimphu Elevation: Thimphu - 2334m/7656 ft
Begin your day with a peaceful meditation session led by a Buddhist lama at the historic Semtokha Dzong, allowing you to connect with Bhutan's spiritual traditions and cultivate inner calm. Continue with a rejuvenating yoga session at Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Thimphu Valley. After finding balance and tranquility, enjoy a gentle hike to Wangditse, a scenic trail that offers beautiful views and a chance to fully immerse yourself in the serenity of nature. Later, visit the Institute for Zorig Chusum (School of 13 Traditional Arts and Crafts), where students preserve Bhutan's rich artistic heritage through traditional painting, carving, embroidery, and other crafts. Day 3 Thimphu to Punakha – Across the Himalayan Passes Elevation: Thimphu – 2334m/7656 ft

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the beautiful valley of Punakha, Bhutan's former capital. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads and breathtaking landscapes before reaching the spectacular Dochula Pass (3,100m). Adorned with 108 intricately built chortens, the pass was constructed by the Queen Mother in honor of Bhutanese soldiers. On clear days, enjoy stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Descending into the fertile Punakha Valley, visit the revered Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility. Built in 1499 in honor of the legendary saint Drukpa Kunley, famously known as the "Divine Madman," the temple is believed to bless couples seeking children. A pleasant walk through picturesque villages and rice fields leads to this unique and beloved monastery. Later, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, often regarded as the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan. Built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of Bhutan, the dzong stands majestically at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River). Rich in history and stunning architecture, it has played a central role in Bhutan's religious and political life for centuries.

Day 4 Punakha to Paro – Spiritual Heritage Journey Elevation: Punakha – 1200m/4000 ft

After breakfast, drive from Punakha to Paro, enjoying Bhutan's picturesque landscapes and peaceful countryside along the way. Upon arrival, visit Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples, built in the 7th century by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. This revered temple is believed to be a place of great spiritual blessing and tranquility. Later, visit Ta Dzong (National Museum of Bhutan), a former watchtower that now houses a fascinating collection of Bhutanese art, artifacts, religious relics, and historical treasures. Day 5 Tiger’s Nest Hike – A Journey of Mind, Body & Spirit Elevation: Tigers nest – 3120m/1040 ft

Today is the highlight of your spiritual journey in Bhutan. After breakfast, embark on a hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), Bhutan’s most sacred pilgrimage site. Perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the Paro Valley, the monastery is believed to be the place where Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) flew on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave for three months in the 8th century, introducing Buddhism to Bhutan. The hike covers approximately 12 km (round trip) and takes about 4–6 hours, depending on your pace. Along the trail, enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery, fluttering prayer flags, and peaceful forest surroundings that make the journey as rewarding as the destination itself. After descending from the monastery, return to your hotel and unwind with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath. This ancient wellness practice uses river stones heated in a fire and placed into a wooden bath infused with medicinal herbs, helping to relax muscles, improve circulation, and restore energy after the hike. In the evening, enjoy a traditional farmhouse dinner with a local family, offering an authentic taste of Bhutanese cuisine and hospitality.
